Hello! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice tribute page you have created in honor of Hal Bates.
Long story short, I am currently authoring Bob Crane's full and complete biography, and I am spearheading the efforts for his induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame and Hollywood Walk of Fame. For more about these endeavors, visit: http://www.vote4bobcrane.org
I like this photo very much! Can you tell me a bit more about it? Did Hal Bates ever interview Bob Crane, and if so, do those recordings and/or transcripts still exist?
I would love to share this photo (with a link to your blog) with Bob Crane fans - no guarantees, but I might be able to find out who the other folks in this photo are.
Warm regards,
Carol Ford
Carol! Thanks for the nice response. The photo is all I know of my father and Bob Crane (and Barbi Benton, for that matter). I think this is at the Playboy Club in Hollywood in the late '60s (Dad looks a bit younger here than in other photos). The person to the right of Barbi is Larry Lipson, a cousin of my father who was also in the entertainment media. Feel free to serve out this link. Regards, and happy new year. --- Stephen
DeleteThat's not "Barbi Benton". On one part you wrote "Benson" and another "Benton". Maybe it's a lady called "Barbi Benson". Barbi BenTon was famous and looked nothing like this lady. she had a much fleshier, fatter nose.
