Sir: As a lover of good music, I was extremely disappointed to click on your provocative link, only to discover that Hal Bates -- my favorite current columnist -- was writing about some opera bullshit. There was no mention of Der Bingle anywhere I could find. It's hard enough to keep the conversation going about 1920s and '30s vocal stylings anymore without misleading links like this. Thank you.
